Rating: PG-13 Director: Nick Cassavetes I have always heard people talk about this movie and how good it is, so I’ve wanted to watch it for a while but never got around to it. However this past weekend I watched Dr. Strange with my dad and Strange’s doctor friend, Christine, is Rachel McAdams who I recognized from a movie but couldn’t quite figure it out. So I looked up the movies she was in and I saw The Notebook listed. Then I told myself why not watch it since it seems to be a movie everyone has seen before. I really enjoyed it. It took me a while to figure out the elderly man reading to the elderly woman was Noah and Allie. Once I figured it out, the movie just all came together. I know there was a reason they were showing the nursing home, but I couldn’t believe it was Allie who lost her memory. Ryan Gosling was perfect in this role with Rachel McAdams and somehow James Marsden played a role, but I guess he did a fine job. I just think Noah and Allie are so cute especially as an older couple and the fact that he reads to her to help her remember even just for a little, is the cutest thing ever. I can’t believe I have never seen this movie before, but I’m just glad I did this past weekend. I enjoyed the storyline, characters and how they switched back and forth between timelines and made it connect so well. I’m really glad Allie and Noah did end up together because I hate those movies *cough cough* La La Land where they are so made for each other and don’t even end up together. This movie made me sad and happy at the same time. The old couple was just so cute but the fact that Noah still put in the effort when his kids kind of didn’t care any more was the sweetest thing ever. I really enjoyed watching this movie!
