Rating: PG-13 Director: Lin-Manuel Miranda Not going to lie, this movie took me a while to get into. From the beginning, I really enjoyed the music and songs, but I was heavily confused on what was going on. There were a lot of changes back and forth between different times which took me a while to understand what time was the present and what had already happened. Once I figured it out and the movie started actually making sense, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I guess it doesn’t help that I haven’t ever seen RENT or know anything about Jonathan Larson, but this movie helped with that. Andrew Garfield did a really great job portraying all his emotions to the viewers because everything he said or did, I was feeling as well. I also really enjoyed Vanessa Hudgens being in it because I just love her and she gives me nostalgic vibes from being in High School Musical which was my whole childhood. She also has a wonderful voice and is overall a really great actress. I appreciated all the celebrity/broadway star cameos, even though I didn’t know half of them. My mom explained a lot of who they were but I really thought it was cool that they had so many people who were famous broadway stars that helped celebrate this movie. I enjoyed that it wasn’t just about the making of the musical, but it was about Jonathan Larson and his relationships with other people. I loved the ending which was a description of what happened to him, which made me a little sad, but it was a wonderful ending. Trailer: youtu.be/YJserno8tyU
